F. King Alexander is President of Cal State Long Beach
An LSU search committee has recommended a finalist for the position of President of the university.
F. King Alexander has served as President of California State University Long Beach since 2006. Previously, he served as President of Murray State University from 2001 to 2006. Alexander also has held positions at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
He received his doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin.
The LSU Board of Supervisors will consider the recommendation at a special meeting March 27.
"King Alexander has the skills and experience to lead LSU at this time in our history," said Hank Danos, chair of the Board of Supervisors.
"He is committed to upholding our great traditions and equally committed to continuing our transition to excellence for the present and the future," Danos said.
Alexander will visit LSU later this week.
