Herring was signed by the franchise in 2011
The Saints and linebacker Will Herring have agreed to a deal that will keep Herring in New Orleans for another season.
The 6'3", 241 pound Herring was originally drafted in 2007 by Seattle and was signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Saints in 2011.
In his two seasons here, the Saints say the former Auburn standout has been a "crucial member" of the club's special team units while also providing depth in the linebacking corps.
Herring appeared in all 16 games last season. He started once, had seven defensive stops and tied for second on the team with a career-high 14 special team stops.
As usual, the financial details were not released.
