Child died Thursday after being hospitalized for a week for treatment of serious head injury
A 23-year-old Marrero man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.
Darionne Taylor died Thursday at Children's Hospital where she was hospitalized last week for treatment of a serious head injury has died at Children's Hospital.
The youngster was rushed to the hospital March 15 after suffering seizures.
Cyril Jones, who was originally charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty in the case and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, has now been rebooked on the added charge of second-degree murder.
Jones allegedly admitted to throwing the 2-year-old to the ground and shaking her. He also alllegedly confessed to biting her last month when he lost his temper.
