Sherman Copelin, Jr. is accused of failing to pay subcontractors hired to rebuild a school in Harvey after Katrina
Former state Rep. Sherman Copelin, Jr. of New Orleans has been arrested, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday.
Col. John Fortunato says Copelin surrendered himself to JPSO investigators at the JPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau, in the presence of his attorney Robert Jenkins, around 10:15am Wednesday.
Copelin was booked into the parish correctional center with one count of theft and one count of misapplication of payment.
