Reward raised from $2,500 to $5,000
Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans announced Monday that it's raising - from $2,500 to $5,000 - the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of 18-year-old Americorps volunteer from Illinois.
Joseph Massenburg was gunned down a week ago while he was making a cell phone call.
Crimestoppers President Darlene Cusanza says they're hoping a larger reward will generate more tips.
"We're not receiving a lot of information at this point on this case. That's discouraging considering this might have just been a case of mistaken identity," Cusanza said.
