"Rock n Roll" benefit for John Passaro will be held April 17 at Generations Hall
A fundraiser is planned for injured New Orleans police officer John Passaro, who's recovering from gunshot wounds.
Passaro was shot twice by a would-be armed robber at a Dollar Store on Poland Avenue in February.
"Rock n Roll" for Passaro will be held next Wednesday, April 17, from 5pm to 10pm, at Generations Hall in the Warehouse District at 310 Andrew Higgins Drive.
Food at the benefit will be provided by local restaurants and chefs, and several local bands will be playing.
Tickets are $25 per person and are available at any NOPD district station or Gulf Coast Bank & Trust location in New Orleans. Tickets will be $30 at the door.
NOPD Lt. Chris Hart told Denny Schaffer Tuesday Passaro is working really hard to get back to being better and is expected to attend the fundraiser.
"He's been in the hospital ever since the morning that he was shot, and he's really excited about next Wednesday. It's gonna be his first venture out since that happened," Hart said.
