Work has started with removal of electronic devices from all 12 lanes
The state Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has begun to disassemble the toll plaza at the Crescent City Connection. The work has started with the removal of electronic devices from all 12 lanes.
DOTD spokeswoman Bambi Hall tells 99.5FM, "The process involves removing all of the electronic devices from all 12 lanes and ensuring that all electrical power is off and that the cables are properly stored.
"There are over 15 pieces of electronic equipment per lane, and that equipment will be moved to a warehouse for storage," Hall said.
There is no timetable for removing the equipment or the toll booths themselves, Hall said.
