Coalition founder says it's "a wonderful step in the right direction"
The founder of the New Orleans Food Truck Coalition says the group supports the latest proposal to update the city's food truck laws.
Rachel Billow calls the proposal "a wonderful step in the right direction."
The proposed ordinance was introduced by Councilmembers Stacy Head and LaToya Cantrell on behalf of the Landrieu administration.
It would increase the number of food truck permits to 100, open up the CBD to food trucks and lift the restriction setting a distance between food trucks and restaurants.
"We are excited about the changes put forth and I believe that we're gonna come to a good set of ordinances," Billow said.
The city council is expected to take up the proposal in a few weeks.
