The managing company is planning a warm welcome for employees today
A warm welcome is planned today for the employees of the former Interim LSU Public Hospital by the company officially taking over the hospital today.
Brian Landry, spokesman for LCMC, which owns and operates Children's Hospital, Touro Infirmary and now the interim hospital, says the senior management of LCMC will be at the hospital to greet employees.
"There will be banners up that will be welcoming them to the family, and then there will be some activities at lunch and some things we'll be doing for the night shift and what have you," Landry tells 99.5FM.
"We want them to feel welcome and excited about the future, about the present and the future," Landry said. And we think that in a very short period of time they'll see that very little, if any, has changed."
Landry says of the 2,221 people employed at the interim hospital prior to the takeover, 2,173 applied for jobs with LCMC. Most were offered jobs. 1,930 accepted job offers while 187 declined them. Fifty-six employees who applied were not offered jobs.
