The Downtown Development District (DDD) has launched its "Downtown Proud" campaign, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for CBD workers and visitors.
On Tuesday, the organization began putting signs on parking meter kiosks downtown, with specific messages.
"Things like curbing your dog, picking up after your dog, not riding your bike on the sidewalk, walking it for safety's sake, reporting aggressive panhandling and finding more productive ways to help folks who may be in need," says Kurt Weigle, President/CEO of the DDD.
Weigle says public reaction to the signs has been very positive so far.
"Even though these are in some ways minor issues compared to some things that a city might deal with, from a quality of life perspective, very important to folks," Weigle said.
